The Formal Gardens were built in 1931 by George F. and Stella Elkins Tyler as the landscape for their mansion, Council Rock. The grounds are designed with formal gardens divided into different levels and compartments that are separated by stone walls and shrubs. Gravel pathways wind around water fountains, beautiful lush lawns, and a bronze sculpture.
Tyler Gardens are reminiscent of a golden age of elegance and fairytale charm.
