About
For more than 100 years, Birdcraft has served as a gateway to our region’s natural history. With a sanctuary for birds to rest, feed, and nest, and a museum to place Connecticut’s birds and their habitats in the wider context of conservation, Birdcraft has provided enriching educational experiences for generations. Mabel Osgood Wright, a pioneer woman of her time, founded the Connecticut Audubon Society in 1898 and in 1914, established Birdcraft, the first bird sanctuary in the nation. The landscape surrounding the museum was designed for birds, to offer them respite and habitat.
Birdcraft Museum is a perfect setting to host your next upcoming event. By renting with us, not only will you enjoy your event in this charming space, but you will also support our efforts in conservation and education. The grounds continue to support many diverse birds today, so you can look forward to sharing this beautiful nature retreat with them during your event.
