rusticridgeview.com is a rustic wedding venue (and horse farm!) 1.5 hrs north of NYC in the Hudson Valley. (Near New Paltz/ Minnewaska State Park) Stunning 360 degree mountain views and a large covered pavilion with electricity that holds up to 300, and a hilltop ceremony site, they allow folks to rent for the entire weekend- no time pressure and guests are allowed to pitch tents and stay over, though there are hotels and shuttles nearby. You have complete control of caterers, photographers etc. Want BBQ? no prob. Want buffet? no prob. Want super fancy? Also no problem. Want potluck? OK! Super easy to work with and NOT a wedding factory! There's an onsite wedding coordinator, as well. We grew up on farms, lived in NYC, then moved back to the country!
