Virginia has been my home for over 30 years. I have embraced its captivating beauty, been enthralled with the splendor of the seasons and fell in love with a place rich in over 400 years of history. But it did not begin this way. Having spent the first 18 years of my life in Southern California, the heavy spanish influence had a profound effect on me and still has a presence in who I am today. It is not surprising that a little of this has made its way to Bedford County, Virginia. We are blessed now with a 300 acre sanctuary and in the middle of it, sitting high on a hill, a stunning 30 mile long panoramic view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Some say it is all in the name. A name gives purpose and meaning. It speaks of who you are and what you are. “Sierra” in spanish means mountain range and “Vista” means view. Hence… Sierra Vista! It is our little bit of the great out west in the heart and foothills of Virginia.
