About
Broad vistas over green mountains and hillside orchards, freshwater ponds nestled beside rustic barns, and historic vacation homes are a few of the many pleasures of holding a special event in southern Vermont at the 571-acre Scott Farm.
Scott Farm has hosted numerous special occasions, including weddings, rehearsal dinners, commitment ceremonies, civil unions, birthdays and family gatherings. Rural, yet close to Brattleboro, it is a unique venue for a special day. There are locations where couples can exchange their vows, host their reception and spend a few nights in a historic Vermont property, one of which is Rudyard Kipling’s home, Naulakha for 8, a National Historic Landmark, or his Carriage House, for 4, just down the driveway. There’s also The Sugarhouse, for 2,, which is within walking distance of the farm and a wonderful place to start a new life together. The Dutton Farmhouse is also close by and can accommodate 8 of your guests.
Individuals and couples have the opportunity to fashion their own special day by choosing from a selection of caterers, bartenders, musicians and florists. The ability to express your individual style is one of the many appealing things about this location. An experienced event coordinator is on hand to help you take care of every detail.
The Apple Barn is our reception and event location.
The Apple Barn can accommodate 120 guests. It has 3 bathrooms, one of which is handicap accessible and a full kitchen. The cost of $3500.00 includes tables, chairs, dishware, glassware and table settings. It does not include linens, centerpieces or serving ware. We have a list of preferred vendors for food, alcohol, flowers, music, photographers and additional rentals.
We’ll ask for a $500.00 deposit to hold the date. The deposit is refundable after the event as long as no damage has occurred. The full payment of $3500.00 must be received 3 months before the date of your event.
We have 2 locations where you can exchange your vows:
The Apple Barn: A beautiful building with dozens of windows that look out onto the farm and the mountains behind it. This room can be used for both the ceremony and reception.
The Courtyard: Nestled in the middle of beautiful and historic white barns and bordered by a pond with year round running water is the courtyard.
