Nestled on a rural area on two acres at the base of the Carpinteria foothills, Lions Park has become one of the most appreciated and utilized community facilities in the area. The park and its facilities are widely used by individuals and families, as well as for community and charitable events.
Lions Park is located in the beautiful Carpinteria Valley, an Oceanside community 80 miles up the coast from Los Angeles and 12 miles south of Santa Barbara. Visitors come to this peaceful seaside community to soak up sunshine at the beach, or to simply enjoy the pleasures of small town living.
The Lions Club of Carpinteria purchased and began developing the property located in a rural setting in the Carpinteria Valley more than 50 years ago. The Lions Club of Carpinteria and the Carpinteria Lion’s Community Building Association (“CLCBA”) combined their efforts to raise the funds and develop the park which consists of a community building, a park and barbeque area and a grassy open space area. The two organizations, both 501(c)(3) nonprofit public benefit corporations, work hand in hand to provide the maintenance and management of the facilitiesVolunteers from both organizations give, without compensation, of their time, talent, energy and devotion to the park and the community building for the benefit of the public. Contributions to CLCBA keep user fees low for reserved uses, and enables free use of the park by the public for walk on daytime use.
