Fern River Resort is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains in the town of Felton. Our special microclimate provided by our majestic redwood forests ensures that we have both ample sunlight and refreshing shade. Fern River is a sublime sanctuary to many types of wildlife and it is not rare to see deer, raccoons, blue jays, hawks and squirrels.
We have a unique location that speaks to brides in the bay area seeking a destination wedding but without the hassle of airfare. Fern River Resort is within an hour and a half from most places in the bay area and only 30 min away from San Jose. We are 6 miles from Santa Cruz and our location allows guests to enjoy the tranquility and splendor of the redwood forests while being a short drive from the unique beaches, restaurants and shops that Santa Cruz offers.
Our property makes it easy for brides to have many of their weddings needs accommodated in one place. We have 14 cabins of varying sizes to host your bridal party, close friends and family. A sun strewn manicured meadow lined with lilacs, lilies, pear trees, wild strawberries and flanked with ivy, bay trees and redwoods provides the perfect backdrop for your ceremony and reception site. Our custom hand milled and built redwood gazebo provides a rustic while elegant centerpiece to state your vows under. To complete the atmosphere we provide redwood tables for your reception that match the gazebo.
Included in the site rental fee is exclusive use of the Gazebo Garden and River outlook, along with chairs for the ceremony and reception, dining tables, cake and appetizer tent, use of our custom hand built redwood tables, outdoor sound system, base linens for tables.
If a bride chooses to rent out all of the cabins for her guests she will have exclusive use of the entire grounds including our private river beach, community campfire ring, private rejuvenating Jacuzzi spa, ping pong table, badminton court, and other amenities.
